Acosta Dies in Fatal Hit and Run Accident in Bakersfield

Pedestrian Fatality, Fatal Pedestrian Accident, Pedestrian Killed

Bakersfield, CA (February 11, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run crash in Bakersfield. The accident occurred on the evening of February 11 on Edison Highway.

Myrna Cynthia Acosta, 48, was walking outside of a crosswalk on Edison Highway, near East California Avenue when she was hit by a car. Acosta died at the accident scene.

The driver, 28-year-old Eliseo Martinez, fled the accident scene but later returned. He was arrested for DUI and hit and run.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of Myrna Cynthia Acosta.
