Grandmother Dies in Hit and Run Accident in La Mirada

La Mirada, CA (February 20, 2019) – A woman was killed and her two grandchildren were injured in a hit and run crash in La Mirada. The fatal accident happened on the afternoon of February 20 on Escalona Road.

The grandmother and the two children – a girl and a boy – were walking in the 14800 block of Escalona Road near Escalona Elementary School when they were hit by a Toyota sedan. The vehicle fled the accident scene.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Both children were injured and also hospitalized. Both have since been released. Police are still looking for hit and run driver. The vehicle is described as a gray Toyota sedan with front end damage.

California Jury Awards $2 Billion In Roundup Lawsuit

A California jury awarded over $2 billion on May 13th, 2019, to a husband and wife who claimed that the herbicide Roundup caused them to develop Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This  jury award is the largest to date in a Roundup lawsuit. The couple, now in their seventies, had been using Roundup since the 1970s.
