Police Officer Injured in Crash at 7th Street and Middle Harbor Road

Oakland, CA (August 13, 2018) – An accident in Oakland has left a police officer critically injured. The crash happened on the afternoon of August 13 near the Port of Oakland.
The police officer was responding to a report of a suspicious person just at 7th Street and Middle Harbor Road. The officer hit a civilian vehicle and a semi truck that was parked in the middle of the road.
The impact caused the officer to be trapped inside his vehicle. The Oakland Fire Department rescued the officer, who was unconscious at the time. He suffered serious injuries and is currently hospitalized. The drivers of the semi truck and civilian vehicle were not injured.
