Police Pursuit Ends in Crash Against Freeway Barrier

On Friday September 22, 2017, the Montebello Police Department attempted to pull over a car with expired tags just before 11 p.m. in Montebello. The motorist failed to yield, prompting a police pursuit. The high-speed chase continued for 80 miles through surface streets and freeways.

The vehicle pursuit ended when the suspect’s car crashed into a freeway barrier. The suspect exited the vehicle and went to hide in bushes near the Northbound 605 Freeway transition to the Westbound 10 Freeway. Authorities had their guns drawn and tracked the suspect’s footprints and apprehended him.

Two other passengers in the suspect’s vehicle were also detained.
