Police Chase Leads to Santa Barbara Pedestrian Accident

Santa Barbara, CA (January 17, 2019) – A man was arrested after injuring a woman and infant during a police chase in Santa Barbara. The accident occurred just after noon on January 17 at Victoria and Santa Barbara streets.

Police were attempting to serve a search warrant and arrest a man at a residence on West Micheltorena Street when the suspect, 36-year-old Ricardo Sanchez, fled in a vehicle. Officers pursued Sanchez, who ran a red light at the intersection. He hit a woman who was pushing a baby stroller.

The woman and the baby were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Sanchez fled on foot but was later arrested. He faces felony hit and run with injury and other changes.
