Gorman, CA (February 2, 2019) – A winter storm caused a car to go out of control and kill a search-and-rescue team member in Gorman. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of February 2 on the 5 Freeway.

Ten people were involved in the crash, which happened on the northbound 5 Freeway at Vista Del Lago Road. Search-and-rescue team member Jeff Dye was responding to a car crash when he was hit and killed by an out-of-control vehicle. Three other search-and-rescue team members were injured in the crash. Two are still in critical condition. Seven other people were involved, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.
