Semi Truck Accident Closes Freeway

An early morning accident in the early morning hours of January 4 closed the Capital City Freeway on-ramp at Auburn Boulevard in Sacramento for several hours. CHP responded to the crash and found that a semi truck was driving too fast on the on-ramp. It proceeded to spin out and hit both freeway walls.

The crash caused metal and concrete to fall onto I-80 westbound. The debris did not hit anything. CHP cleaned up the debris and Caltrans closed the on-ramp for several hours to fix the broken walls.

The driver suffered minor injuries but no one else was hurt.
