Single Vehicle Crash

2 Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

A vehicle crashed into a tree in Salinas at around 1 a.m. on January 14, killed an 8-month-old baby and his 22-year-old mother. A 23-year-old man was driving the vehicle when the accident happened on Constitution Road. The BMW veered off the road and hit a tree, ejecting all three occupants from the vehicle. The impact caused the car’s bumper to fly off and land in the branches of the tree.

Police believe alcohol and speed contributed to the fatal crash. The accident is still under investigation. The driver, who was believed to the deceased woman’s boyfriend, could face criminal charges.
