Student Seriously Injured in Crash at Highway 101 and Grand Avenue
Car Loses Control, Hits Tree in Arroyo Grande Accident
Arroyo Grande, CA (February 14, 2019) – Two high school students in Arroyo Grande were involved in a crash, injuring one. The accident happened on the afternoon of February 14 at Highway 101 and Grand Avenue.
Two Arroyo Grande High School students – 17-year-old boys – were traveling east on Grand Avenue in a truck when they turned onto Highway 101. While accelerating, the car spun out of control and went off the road. It then slammed into a large tree. The students were on their way back to school during lunch break when the crash occurred.
The driver was able to exit the truck, but the passenger was stuck and had to be removed by firefighters. He was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. It is believed that the wet roadway, combined with speed, contributed to the crash.
