Woman Killed in Emeryville Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle
Emeryville, CA (June 10, 2018) – An accident involving a stolen car has left one woman dead. The fatal crash occurred on the evening of June 10 at the intersection of West MacArthur Boulevard and Peralta Street.
The incident started on Leavenworth Street in San Francisco. A man and woman forced another woman into the trunk of a car. Police officers responded and chased the vehicle across the Bay Bridge. The woman in the trunk used the trunk’s emergency lever to escape from the vehicle. The chase ended when the car crashed in front of a Chrysler in Emeryville. The car hit a pole and caught fire.
The male driver was able to be freed from the vehicle. He is currently in critical condition at a local hospital. The female passenger could not be freed and she died.
