Santa Ana, CA (April 24, 2019) – A hit and run crash in Santa Ana has left a woman with major injuries. The accident occurred just after midnight on April 24 on Standard Avenue.

A police officer was heading south on Standard Avenue when he found a person lying in the roadway near Edinger Avenue. The officer stopped to check on the victim, who was unconscious and not breathing. Emergency crews took the victim, an unidentified woman, to a local hospital. She is currently in critical condition.

As police investigated, they found an unoccupied car with major front-end damage. They also saw a man walking away from the car. Surveillance cameras proved that it was the man who hit the woman.

The man was found to be under the influence. He has been identified as Alberto Solano Diaz, 38. He was arrested for hit and run and DUI causing injury, both felonies.
